The Big Adventure

If someone had told me when I was nine that my dreams of being in High School Musical were soon to be dashed and that my next dream of becoming a veterinarian would die because you have to do more than just pet animals, I would probably stomp my bare feet and declare "No!"

I'm a big dreamer and I want it to my dreams, and mine alone. So, learning that, no, that is not possible is a rather difficult pill to swallow. My dreams aren't mine. My dreams belong to the Creator of dreams and they're not really dreams after all. They're His plans.

Ten years after my Disney phase and terrible fashion choices, I find myself 22 days into my four months here in Costa Rica. For those I've neglected to inform, I'm in Costa Rica. I am, along with 23 other students, attending Portantorchas Bible School for four months. While we are here, we will be taking Bible classes (i.e. books, life application, people), Spanish classes (only for the first month), doing weekly missions and community service, going on crazy adventures, and having a whole slew of fun. Did I mention I get to do this with my best friend? Shoutout to Savannah for telling me to come here, as I had no choice in the matter.

Just in three weeks, my Spanish has improved (Savannah says it has so I assume she's telling the truth), I've been on countless adventures (even if it was just to the supermarket), and already made lifelong friends who have made every day, especially my birthday, the best ever.

I really hope that I will be able to keep this relatively up to date, but I'm also not here to be on the computer every day. I'm here to be near to God, figure out what in the world happens the second I'm back in the States, and just to discover me.

So, as the great Bilbo Baggins once said, "I'm on going on an adventure!"
